How Pursuing a Career On The Internet in the Watch and Jewelry Industry Changed My Mind

Changing my mind so much is something I’ve become quite accustomed to in the last few years. It started with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that I received after a terrible accident. As a result, I had to completely reassess what I wanted to do with my life. Although it was a difficult decision, I eventually decided to pursue a career on the web and make a store involving watches and jewelry.

When I first started exploring this new field, I was amazed to see the range of options available to choose from. I could focus on creating one-of-a-kind store of pieces that are truly unique, or could become a specialist in evaluating and selling pre-owned luxury watches. Either way, I was excited to get started.

Of course, I had some reservations as well. After all, the watch and jewelry industry is very competitive and the stakes can be high. But I was confident that with hard work and dedication, I could build a successful ecommerce store in this field.

So, after researching and planning, finally decided to take the leap. Enrolled in a class on website building as well as a little about watchmaking and jewelry design. I started looking at unique jewelry and also checking out vintage watches. I also began networking with other industry professionals and exploring the market. As I learned more about the craft and the business side of things, I felt myself getting more and more excited.

Over time, I’ve become very educated in my field. And although I still have a lot to learn, I’m proud to say that I’ve built a semi-successful business in watch and jewelry sales. Even today, my passion for this craft only continues to grow.

Ultimately, I’m glad that I made the decision to pursue this  career, despite the challenges I faced along the way. It has been incredibly rewarding and empowering to see how far I’ve come. With every new site I create and every new client I come into contact with, I’m reminded that I can do anything I put my mind to. And that thought is the best feeling of all.
